Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about Sancratosia and the Principality.
Territory and sovereignty
According to member states of the United Nations, the Principality of Sancratosia is not a real state.
It is therefore considered to be a micronation, but we are working hard to change that.
Sancratosia considers the place from where it operates to be an extraterritorial territory from which it exercises its sovereignty.
There has been no official recognition of its extraterritoriality status. It operates from a place bordering Canada, more specifically the province of Québec.
In 2022, Sancratosia adopted in its budget to set up a territorial fund, with the goal to acquire developable territory.
In 2023, Sancratosia formalized its symbolic territorial claim. It claims an area of 574.20 km2 of land in the Province of Quebec, corresponding with the territory of the Beauharnois-Salaberry Regional County Municipality. The Principality does not control the territory and does not have a hard claim on it. It was made so that Sancratosian could have a territory in mind when thinking about Sancratosia.
For the moment, Sancratosia does not allow for unscheduled visits to the Principality. Exceptions can be made for visiting heads of state.
It is also possible to schedule a personal audience with the Sovereign Princess in a public place near the operating territory of the Principality.

Citizenship
Sancratosia’s citizenship is divided into two categories.
Sancratosian nationality, allows individuals to enjoy the full political rights within Sancratosia but is mutually exclusive with the nationality and citizenship of other micronations.
Sancratosian residency, allows individuals to support Sancratosia without a strong commitment to its political life. It is suited for people who want to have multiple citizenships within micronations.

To enjoy the full political rights in the Principality of Sancratosia, individuals must be naturalized as Sancratosian subjects. Only Sancratosian citizens of Sancratosian nationality can be elected to the National Council and to the Municipal Council.
Nationals can also request a passport, identity cards and other documents of which the process is explained when naturalized.
