Treaty Sancratosia-New Richmond

Treaty between the Principality of Sancratosia and the New Richmond Republic

The Principality of Sancratosia and the New Richmond Republic;

Recognizing their place as small, under-recognized, sovereign states within the global micronational community;

Recognizing the cordial dialogue and potential for fruitful cooperation present between them;

Expressing the desire to further develop and promote camaraderie, cordial dialogue, and cooperation between themselves within the framework of a formal and official diplomatic relationship, codified by treaty;

Agree to the following :

Article 1.

The nations in communion with this treaty seek to:

1. Promote peace in the community of small nations;
2. Work together to champion progressive policy regarding rights and respect for marginalized peoples, particularly in line with the principles of the Augusta Accord;
3. Champion fruitful and amicable cooperation and dialogue between them.

Article 2.

Each nation will publicly respect the official policies of the other and shall each work for the greater good of the micronational community regardless of the views of the nations within it.

Article 3.

Each nation recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the other. If either nation violates this recognition by encouraging the secession of a portion of the other nation, waging war upon the other, or by some other means, this treaty shall be rendered null and void.

Article 4.

A contracting nation may withdraw from this treaty at any time, under the following terms and conditions:

The withdrawing nation shall provide a full forty-eight-hour warning to the other nation in the form of official correspondence delivered directly to the highest available authority, before withdrawing from the alliance. The terminating nation shall meet with representatives of the other contracting nation to discuss grievances and attempt to negotiate an agreement to salvage the treaty at least once during this period.

Article 5.

The nations who are party to this treaty will resolve any disputes between them through peaceful, diplomatic means. Where necessary, the nations may collectively agree to designate (by a unanimous vote of both of them) an individual who is not a citizen or resident of either of them to serve as an independent arbitrator for dispute resolution.

Article 6.

Each nation has the right to maintain a diplomatic mission in the other nation’s jurisdiction, virtual or physical. Each nation shall guarantee diplomatic immunity to their counterpart’s officially appointed representatives.

Article 7.

This treaty may be amended as required by consensus of the signatory nations.
