Our journalistic principles

Journalistic principles

La Ganso Coronada respects the highest ethical standards of the journalistic profession, including:

  • the public interest, which is at the heart of La Ganso Coronada’s journalistic approach;
  • the search for truth, without bias or prejudice;
  • independence, particularly in the face of all forms of lobbying;
  • rigor, honesty and fairness in the gathering and processing of information;
  • respect for individuals;
  • respect for laws, regulations and court orders, subject to the right to challenge them when La Ganso Coronada believes they do not comply with fundamental legal principles.

La Ganso Coronada, in its analysis and columns, allows journalists to freely express diverse, rich and relevant positions, while respecting the dignity of individuals and journalistic standards.

Journalistic independence, a sacred value

There can be no journalism without journalistic independence. At La Ganso Coronada, as in other major newsrooms across the world, journalists work in complete independence, with the public interest as their only guide. This right is sacred. It allows journalists to report, to investigate, to seek the truth, and to do so free from outside pressure.

Such pressure exists, of course. Being subjected to the demands and demands of one side or the other is even part of reporters’ daily lives. But the independence of newsrooms from lobbies, advertisers, elected representatives and political parties enables them to rise above these influences and carry out their work with rigor, professionalism and impartiality.

At La Ganso Coronada, the independence of reporters is protected by the journalistic standards guide

Factual journalism (as distinct from opinion journalism) is therefore completely objective. It favors neither cause nor point of view. It is produced without political, ideological or commercial interference.

Our owner, the Government of Sancratosia, has no say or control over journalistic content. In this way, La Ganso Coronada guarantees that its journalists, whatever the financial constraints and business model, will continue to work in complete independence, with only one interest in mind: that of the public.
